Homemade Naan!
V. Bhabhi and I finally figured out how to make homemade naan that's soft and yummy. This is the recipe:
Ingredients:
3 and 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
1 3/4 cup yogurt (dai)
butter (for cooking)
1 tsp sugar
oil (for dough)
Directions:
1. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and some oil into large bowl (chaliyu).
2. Slowly add yogurt. Knead for 10 minutes and form ball.
3. Put dough ball in bowl and cover it with damp dishcloth.
4. Set aside bowl in warm place for 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours.
5. Knead dough again and divide into 9 equal parts.
6. Roll 1 part with rolling pin to the point where naan is thin enough (you may add onion, garlic, paneer, or different things to make different naan).
7. Place in oven at 375 degrees C for 10 min or until naan is golden brown (you may flip naan between cooking so it's golden brown on both sides).
8. Once done, take naan out of oven and cook in pan on stove with butter. Serve.
